And by telling all, KathyPetrino knows more people will visit the best destinations, which will make them better for other travelers, including her when she revisits.
Kathy Petrino has many favorite destinations, but one of her favorites is the Coachella Valley. This is an area located in the California Low Desert, roughly 100 miles from Southern California beaches. While it may not be aspopular as it was in its heyday, in the 1950s and 1960s, there is a nostalgic feel to the area. You can almost feel the way the area was when the Rat Pack had a lot of influence in places like Palm Springs. The Low Desert features many fully-restored hotels and rental homes that will take you back to the post-World War II era, when pastels and neon dominated the area. There is also the Coachella Music Festival, one of greatest festivals in the country, as well as a great place for hikers and rock climbers.
